Empowerment Through Additive
IC3D began in 2012 manufacturing USA-made 3D printing filament due to the lack of high quality materials that were not just repurposed plastic welding wire. From 2015, IC3D began working with automotive manufacturers to research and develop additively manufactured jigs, fixtures, and tooling in order to make US manufacturing more competitive in cost and lead time. From 2016, IC3D began engineering more industrial large format 3D printers capable of producing larger fixtures and tooling. IC3D has engineered and manufactured more industrial, rugged, repeatable, large-format 3D printers for in-house service bureau use as well as for customers across the nation. IC3D continues to develop new production grade 3D printing materials in order to expand applications in manufacturing & industry.
Mainstream adoption of additive manufacturing has been and still is a very slow and complex process. Major hurdles include categorizing criticality of components, verification/certification of both materials and 3D printed parts, 3D model management systems including cybersecurity, as well as education and training about additive processes. While these challenges can’t be solved by one company, IC3D is committed to democratizing manufacturing for all to expand human potential.

Production Grade IC3D Filament Reviews
Really great filament considering it is a recycled material. I’ve gone through 4kg of the stuff so far. Its a bit brittle so you have to take that into account based on use case. Prints similar to PLA in terms of squish and at a lower temp than normal PETG 230/80. Prints smooth, no clogs, no jams. Tested on a Prusa MK3s, Railcore 2, and Ender 3 pro. Overall great printing experience.
This is by far the best PETG that I have used. Prints easily like PLA. This is the only PETG (or R-PETG) brand I will buy. I’ve never had any clogging while using it. The diameter is consistent throughout the entire spool. Definitely worth trying it out.
PETG Easy Mode! This recycled PETG is so easy to print with, and the colors are gorgeous! The strength is not quite up to par with normal IC3D PETG (which is awesome!), but that is the nature of recycling thermo plastics. It flows great, responds to cooling well, less than typical PETG stringing, even bridges OK, and supports aren’t horrible, while still having good PETG like layer adhesion.
I use the exact same material profile in PrusaSlicer as I do for some of my other top tier, US based, PLA producers. 210-215 at the hotend, and 60-65 on the bed. For comparison, I usually print regular IC3D PETG at 250-260, and 80-85 on the bed. So more energy efficient as well. No problems using it on PEI, PEX, or PC build surfaces. I have even been turning off the bed after the first couple layers to help out the AC, and it stays put on the PEI & PEX for hours on end.
I have used some of the other recycled filaments that are available, and they all had issues. Being out of spec, air bubbles, wet out of the package, or even chunks of debris in the filament that caused massive clogs. The IC3D recycled PETG filament has been flawless kg after kg. Blue Razz is my favorite color!
If you don’t need the absolute max strength of regular IC3D PETG, would like a little more dazzling colors, need lower temps, or just want to save a couple bucks, the Recycled PETG is worth consideration. Sure, sounds like a sales pitch, but I really enjoy using this material!
IC3D was the first ABS that I had ever printed with, and I haven’t strayed far from it since. It’s low odor and low to no warp in an enclosure heated to >35°C. It has been so easy to work with, and it gives me great peace of mind to know that I don’t have to deal with the traditional ABS headaches when using this stuff! I’ve recently adopted IC3Ds PETG full-time as well, and I’m looking forward to trying out their PLA soon. At this rate, I’ll be printing IC3D materials exclusively! Thank you guys for your dedication to making a great product!
I’ve been using this filament for years. My most recent purchase was the 10kg spool of blue ABS. I bough a large 3″ bearing and printed parts to hold the spool horizontally as opposed to the traditional vertical holding. My printer pulls this spool effortlessly! I’m using the Flashforge Creator Pro 3D printer with the flashprint software… I’ve been printing nonstop with nearly perfect prints.
I love the abs filament from IC3D more than any other company. Not only that, when I received a couple reels of bad filament, I was put in contact with a very qualified employee of the company who made sure I was sent new reels to test. This company cares about their customers, and I could not be more satisfied with my experience working with them. I will only buy from IC3D.
Until now, I have always dreaded using PETG and didn’t buy it often. I almost exclusively use IC3D ABS when I need that material and thought that I would give their PETG a chance. I’m so glad I did because this has been a very pleasant printing experience.
Just ran through 3 of the 2.5kg spools, as part of the Toys for Tots campaign. On decent machines, like the Prusa MK3, or my modified Predator, this stuff prints fantastic! Super low stringing, very solid, accurate, and strong.
Started with flea-bay filament (PLA) and was not having much luck. Stumbled on IC3D PLA and had great success. Had to make some prints in PETG and went back to IC3D. Absolutely no regrets. Quality filament at an affordable price.
PETG has now become my filament of choice and I will be sticking with the IC3D brand. Try it, you’ll love it.
These Mega Spools let you print forever and ever and ever and ever and ever…. it really lets you have stress free printing when doing iterations of parts, not having to worry about the filament running out!
I have burned through a few of these giant spools now. Great print quality, really helps increase production by not having to do very many spool swaps and worry about being next to the printer when it runs out as often. Thanks!
